The operation consists of advanced home healthcare (ASIH) with responsibility for patient care around the clock but may also include other targeted palliative or curative measures. Within ASIH, we collaborate with the municipalities of Hässleholm, Perstorp, and Osby. Additionally, there is a joint palliative care department for ASIH Hässleholm and Kristianstad located in Kristianstad.

Palliative care is relieving care when the disease can no longer be cured. The treatment focuses on preventing and alleviating symptoms as well as supporting relatives. We are responsible for specialized palliative care in northeastern Skåne. There are no restrictions on diagnosis or age; the need for specialized palliative care is the guiding factor. We work in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, dietitians, and medical secretaries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of assistant nurse with us, you will perform advanced home healthcare and work in a multidisciplinary team. The goal of the care is to collaborate around the symptoms that the patient is experiencing to achieve the best possible quality of life. We strive to have a person-centered approach and to meet the patient's physical, psychological, social, and existential needs. We care for patients of all ages who are in a palliative stage where all forms of diagnoses may occur.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will have varied tasks where good care and a striving to provide patients and relatives with a good quality of life constitute a large part. You will actively participate in planning the patient's care together with other professionals, where you work with a person-centered approach and take great consideration of the entire life situation. You will also conduct independent home visits and work with patients based on the conditions that the home environment entails.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. If you are specially trained in palliative care or have education that the employer assesses as equivalent, this is considered an advantage. A valid B driver's license is required as we also provide care in the home. We consider it advantageous if you have experience working with severely ill patients in a home environment. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have knowledge of the medical record system Melior.

Since part of the work involves support and conversations, it is important that you find it easy to communicate with both patients and relatives and that you are empathetic and calm and have the ability to meet people on different levels. Since the work is team-based, it is required that you find it easy to collaborate and that your positive attitude contributes to a good work climate. You also have the ability to see the whole picture regarding the needs of the patient and their relatives. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, good collaboration skills, and a genuine interest in palliative care.

If you have not received your proof of a protected professional title, a certificate (not just a diploma) from your assistant nurse education must be attached.
