Your New Job

The operations are based on the values of elderly care: Social services' care for the elderly should be directed towards ensuring that elderly individuals can live a dignified life and feel well-being (SoL 5 chap 4§).

As a care assistant with us, you are a bearer of the social services' vision, operational idea, and values. You carry out care and support based on a rehabilitative approach that means the individual should be activated as much as possible in care to enhance or maintain their functional ability. In your role, you work health-promoting, which means focusing on the healthy aspects and the opportunities and resources available to each citizen. All care is tailored to the citizen's needs, wishes, and conditions.

You have a significant role where you work with person-centered care and support. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating a valuable everyday life for our elderly with a high level of service and social stimulation. The tasks include personal care, everyday chores such as cleaning and laundry, social activities, medication management, and various responsibilities in the form of representative assignments. You also actively work with case management, implementation plans, and social documentation. You administer medication on delegation from a nurse, carry out certain rehabilitation measures on delegation from an occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and report continuously orally and in writing to the unit manager/nurse and colleagues.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying are primarily a trained care assistant, preferably with extensive experience in care work. Experience in dementia care or dementia specialist training, as well as knowledge of Combine, is meritorious.

Alternatively, you may be a care aide with longer experience in elderly care.

You have good computer skills and master Swedish well in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension as there is contact with tenants and relatives, as well as documentation, reading of information, and various digital solutions in daily work. You should be flexible and able to contribute to quality and development work in our operations. You should be engaged and responsible and able to convey security to our citizens. The job requires physical mobility. You will work irregular hours with shifts during the day, evening, and weekends throughout the year.

Welcome to Us

Smedjegården Elderly Home is located by the Taberg River in the picturesque Norrahammar. We have three dementia units and a short-term unit for individuals with dementia. Adjacent to the elderly home, there is a fantastic garden and courtyard that is used by both staff and tenants. We are a stable team of about 40 employees with good cohesion, and our user survey also shows satisfied tenants. We are now looking for three new employees who want to be part of our team in the dementia department!

The elderly care must meet the individual needs of the elderly for care, support, and security in accordance with the operational goals, guidelines, and prevailing conditions. Elderly care must collaborate with citizens and organizations and work together for a common approach.

Good to Know

Within Jönköping Municipality, we offer equal pay for care assistant positions, regardless of which elderly home you work at. This means that the salary is not affected by the choice of workplace. All our elderly homes have comparable working hours, and we follow applicable legislation, including rules on rest periods and weekend work.

The recruitment concerns 3 permanent positions, full-time, with start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend, and you will work every other weekend. Jönköping works with full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment. Resource shifts may involve working at all units of the operation.
