We are now looking for nursing assistants for the summer of 2026. The urgent care center opened on June 1, 2021, and is a 24/7 operation that is welcoming, where patients can seek care directly. The urgent care center is part of good and close care, and through increased accessibility, it creates security and closer care for the population of Västerbergslagen. It will be a modern digital reception.

Our mission is to provide emergency medical care for children and adults that cannot wait but do not require the resources of a hospital.

We work in two teams: the triage team and the field team, where all employees take a lot of personal responsibility for their tasks and where we strive for everyone to have their own areas of responsibility.

All our patients come via drop-in and are assessed in the first step by a nurse and nursing assistant in triage. The field team then takes over, and the patient is further managed by a doctor or assessed and treated by a nurse depending on the triage color and reason for visit.

The job includes assisting with various procedures, sample collection, observations/checks, and analysis in our own laboratory. We also cast fractures, where our regular nursing assistants are trained in various casting techniques.

Communication/information and close collaboration with all professional categories are important for the work to flow smoothly.

We have been using the Cosmic journal system since autumn 2025 and utilize the RETTS assessment support.

The urgent care center operates around the clock, where you work days, evenings, and/or nights as well as weekends.

Requirements:

• trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education (has a diploma from the Health and Care College)
• alternatively, nursing students from T4 or medical students from T3 (healthcare personnel in training)

Meritorious:

• specialist nursing assistant in emergency care, pediatrics, outpatient health care, or ambulance
• several years of healthcare experience
• experience in emergency care and/or primary care
• experience with the Cosmic journal system

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the certificate starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need to have a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.

This job involves direct and regular contact with children and/or adolescents.
