Welcome to us!
At Child and Family, 15 social workers, two senior social workers, and the nearest decision-making manager work together. We are divided into reception function, interventions/implementation, investigation, and family law.
The legislation we primarily work from is the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Working with us involves a significant amount of collaboration with both internal and external partners.
The Social Administration's Individual and Family Care (IFO) is organized into four units: Child and Family Unit, Adult Unit, Open Care Unit, and Labor Market and Integration Unit.
The Social Administration consists of 600 employees, where the breadth of the assignment is extensive. The administration is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. Here, we are responsible for providing care and support, assistance and services, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens who need it at all stages of life.
Your tasks
As a social worker with us, you will among other things:
- Investigate and make decisions primarily according to the Social Services Act and LVU.
- Handle cases and conduct child welfare investigations.
- Work closely with families, networks, and other professional actors to find the best solutions for the children and young people we are responsible for.
- Document and follow up on cases to ensure that our interventions make a difference.
- Stay updated with current legislation and develop your knowledge in the field.
What we offer:
- A positive and supportive work environment where you have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally.
- Flexible working hours to balance work and private life.
- Meaningful work where you truly contribute to society and the well-being of residents.
- Opportunity for continuous development in your field.
- Exciting and inspiring tasks.
- Opportunity for vacation exchange.
- Wellness allowance or wellness hour.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in social work and documented experience in authority practice within the area of children and youth.
- Has experience with child welfare investigations and/or working with placed children.
- Has knowledge of current legislation, primarily the Social Services Act and LVU.
- Is empathetic, flexible, and values collaboration.
A requirement for this position is that you have a degree in social work.
It is an advantage if you have previously worked with children and families within authority practice and have good knowledge of SoL and LVU.
As a person, you are self-driven and courageous. You thrive in a dynamic environment with varying pace. Important for the role is that you have a respectful, professional, and present approach with the best interests of the child at the center.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Greetings from your future manager
For me as the nearest manager, it is important to utilize the group's competence and create opportunities for development at both the individual and group level.
We have just reorganized the unit, and you who are applying for this position will play a significant role in the continued development of our unit.
I, together with a wonderful team of social workers, want to welcome you who are confident in yourself and want to develop in your role as a social worker – welcome with your application!

Krokom, the municipality in the heart of Jämtland
The borders of Krokom Municipality stretch from the shores of Storsjö in the south to the vast and wild mountains in the north, and to the east, the great forests of the northern inland take over. Here, just over 15,700 residents live, right in Jämtland County, with close access to good communications to the rest of Sweden. There are fantastic opportunities for a rich cultural and outdoor life. People move here and want to stay because here life can truly take place.
The municipality is part of a Sami administrative area, which means that we work to strengthen the Sami language, make the culture visible, and give the Sami influence.
