Your Role

As a systems engineer at Saab, you will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture to design, implementation, testing, and verification - while being a crucial piece of our journey to create the next generation of defense systems.

Our products are subjected to significant stress and the security requirements are high. We have a requirements-based development process which means that the overall customer requirements must be broken down into systems, subsystems, software, and hardware. All requirements must be validated and verified. Your task will be to coordinate requirements gathering, system architecture, validation, and verification at the system level in our various projects. You will become well-versed in standards for safety-critical development and Saab's processes, methods, and tools. With a strong focus on user-friendly systems, we adapt our products by understanding our customers' needs, solving real problems, and building innovative solutions and relationships.

As a Systems Engineer with us, you can have one or more specializations depending on your areas of expertise. Examples of what your main tasks may include:

• Develop and analyze system requirements.
• Define system architecture and design.
• Conduct system safety analyses.
• Plan and lead system integration.
• Define verification and validation strategy at the system level.
• Plan and lead verification and validation activities at the system level.
• Coordinate verification activities between different disciplines, HW/SW/System.
• Follow up on requirement coverage and test results for our projects.

In this role, you will have contact with many different professional groups such as project managers, designers across several disciplines, systems engineers, test system developers, and test engineers. You will also interact with our customers. The work provides a broad understanding of the business, from development to production, and there are good development opportunities throughout the organization.

We value qualities such as curiosity, strong drive, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. We see that you have a bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, software, mechanics, or physics, or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge and experience in some or any of the following; working with requirements, architecture, verification, and validation, preferably at the system level, safety-critical systems, familiarity with requirements management tools, and experience leading others' work, e.g., team leadership.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
