The Company

Spotpilot AB is a relatively new company fully funded by our own resources. We have developed a small unit that uses machine learning and optimization to control home batteries/solar batteries in a smart way to save money for the customer. Right now, we are in the process of adding support for electric vehicle charging.

Our office is located in the picturesque Hestra, Småland, right next to the ski and MTB facility Isaberg. As a developer, you can choose to work at the office here in Hestra or remotely.

Technical Solution

The unique aspect of our solution is that communication primarily takes place via the local network, which means that we, as web developers, have to think a bit more, as we are used to the simplicity of the cloud. For performance and security reasons, we run all ancillary services ourselves on Swedish servers.

The hardware of the unit is a Raspberry PI, and the software running is written in Rust. The iOS and Android apps are native and developed by external consultants. The apps communicate with the unit via REST API, either locally or via a cloud proxy when the unit is outside the local network.

In the coming months, we have a large project where we will rewrite the native apps to use a common codebase, among other things to reduce duplicated code; to offer our customers a local web interface; and to support larger screens without developing different solutions. We believe that a solution like Tauri with an accompanying JavaScript framework would work well.

Your Profile

  • Building new functionality in the frontend and on the website
  • General bug fixing of the frontend and website

  • Private pension plan
  • Private health insurance
  • Wellness allowance
  • Flexible hours
