Substitute Primary School Teacher for Grades 1-3

Bullmarks School is an F-6 school with 70 students located 30 km from Umeå.

The school consists of two buildings, one completely newly built and the other fully renovated. We have an incredibly nice school with the best possible conditions for both students and teachers' work environment. The facilities are well adapted for the activities, and each classroom has its own group room. The premises have a good acoustic environment with sound-absorbing materials, creating a calm study environment. The school has its own small library with a very good selection, and there is also the opportunity for group work and book discussions. The after-school facilities are well thought out and are located close to the classrooms for grades F-3. The school's outdoor environment is very pleasant, and the school is centrally located in the village, close to forests, sports fields, and illuminated trails.

Being a small school and having relatively few staff enables good collaboration between the school and after-school care, creating a solid foundation of security. The students at the school know the staff, and the staff knows all the students and helps to see and support them.

Working at a village school means that the closeness to the students and the student perspective is at the center of all aspects of the work. We work flexibly and with creative solutions for everything from scheduling to group divisions. The teachers in grades F-6 participate together in a large work team where everyone helps to plan, for example, outdoor days and theme days and participates jointly in various professional development initiatives.

Employment Information

The position is a full-time substitute, planned to start from January 26, 2026, until June 17, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

The position is a substitute role as a mentor in grade 3. Your task as a primary school teacher is to create a meaningful and safe school environment for our students. Among other things, by planning lessons based on the curriculum, but also making a more comprehensive plan together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' achievement of goals. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's knowledge development.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Requirements

• Teaching certification and qualification for the relevant grades 1-3
• Experience working in a school
• Valid extract from the criminal record
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English language in speech and writing
• Driver's license category B and access to a personal vehicle due to sparse public transport

Meritorious

• Experience working as a mentor in primary school
