Teacher in Leisure Home

Tomtebogård consists of a preschool with four departments and a school for grades F–3.

Tomtebogård is located in Tomtebo in the eastern part of Umeå, close to nature by the shore of Nydalasjön. Approximately 245 students in the school and 70 children in the preschool learn and play here. The units have a natural and close collaboration between teachers, preschool teachers, leisure educators, and childcare workers, where learning for sustainable development is a central part of the education. Tomtebogård School is one of Umeå Municipality's training schools, which means that during the school year, it receives teacher students for their practical training, VFU. We are now looking for a teacher in leisure home who wants to contribute to a meaningful and safe everyday life for our students!

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will work in the leisure home and in collaboration with other teacher groups and resource educators throughout the students' day. You will systematically plan, document, implement, and follow up on the students' needs and progress to ensure an operation that supports the students' development and learning in accordance with the curriculum for leisure homes, where sustainability issues have a natural place.

About You

You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents, have the ability to vary teaching and activities based on students' needs. You are a safe adult and a good role model who can connect with the students, see each individual, and create a good learning environment. You motivate the students by allowing them to participate and come up with their own suggestions. You have good collaboration skills with colleagues and external parties. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Qualified teacher in leisure home
• Teacher certification/applied for teacher certification
• Experience working in leisure homes
• Valid extract from the criminal record
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
