The Quality and Patient Safety unit is part of the area of patient safety, development, and research in healthcare. The unit acts as experts and advisors on issues related to quality and patient safety to contribute to safe care. The unit includes several different functions, including the pharmaceutical unit, chief physician, and infection control, where we are now looking for a new employee. The infection control mission contributes to patient safety efforts by preventing healthcare-associated infections and limiting the spread of, for example, resistant bacteria and other infections within care and nursing.

Within Infection Control, you will be part of a team consisting of infection control nurses and infection control physicians. We support hospitals, health centers, and municipalities. Infection Control works across the county, which means travel within the region.

We are now looking for an infection control nurse for Quality and Patient Safety in Sundsvall. The position is a permanent full-time employment with immediate start, according to agreement. There is an opportunity for a lower working degree that can be combined with clinical duties.

Infection Control Nurse Quality and Patient Safety, Sundsvall

The workday as an infection control nurse is varied and largely depends on current events. The job responsibilities include:

• informing, educating, and advising on infection control issues towards all personnel categories within the region and municipalities
• developing infection control routines to support work in healthcare
• participating in investigations related to healthcare-associated infections and epidemiologically monitoring microorganisms of special infection control interest
• advising on planning of renovations and new constructions, procurement of medical technology products, and regarding disinfection and sterilization methods
• participating in development and quality work with other employees within Quality and Patient Safety.

You will receive an introduction tailored to your skills and previous experiences. Continuous professional development is ensured, and further studies are encouraged.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed nurse
• Has many years of experience in healthcare
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Has a B driver's license

It is advantageous if you

• Have additional training/specialist education in infection control/microbiology
• Have work experience in teaching or management
• Have experience in developing guidelines, instructions, or educational materials
• Have work experience in surgical operations
