Welcome to us

The unit for financial assistance targets adults aged 18 and older living in the Skärholmen district who cannot meet their basic economic needs through their own means.

The mission is to free and develop people's own resources to become self-sufficient and lead an independent life with equality in living conditions and active participation in community life. Investigations, assessments, and decisions are based on the city's common assessment tools Initial Assessment (IB) and Preconditions for Work (FIA). The assessment tools are a means to involve the individual in the change plan and in the implementation of measures. We consistently work with the conversation methodology MI (Motivational Interviewing) and have an MI-oriented approach in the motivational work with clients.

The unit's employees are divided into three teams. A reception team that handles all new cases and two investigation teams focused on self-sufficiency through work, studies, or disability benefits or on investigating clients living in alternative housing solutions and having other forms of social medical issues.

Your role

We are now looking for two social workers for our investigation and reception teams.

As a social worker with us, you will support applicants in becoming self-sufficient through advice, support, and guidance while investigating and deciding on the right to financial assistance. You will create individual plans in collaboration with the individual and other actors while investigating the economic situation in parallel with the individual's overall life situation.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Previous experience in financial assistance is an advantage.

You should have knowledge of the legislation applied and good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. You are confident in your role, have a coaching approach with a strong focus on creating good collaboration and a positive work environment. You are attentive and can accommodate anxiety and provide support even in complex situations. In the role of social worker, you are required to be structured, have good judgment, and have perseverance in your work, as well as being motivated to support applicants in becoming self-sufficient. Furthermore, you have good problem-solving skills and are expected to actively participate in the development work of the unit to achieve operational goals.
