At Växa, we work for healthy animals that are profitable and sustainable. We can make a difference through preventive animal health work and other advisory services as well as breeding work. Now, as a veterinarian with a strong interest in cattle, you have the chance to contribute both to breeding work and to follow-up and work at the herd level in a new position within both breeding and animal health.

We are looking for a veterinarian who wants to develop in both of these areas and offers a developing job in a wonderful and competent team. You have great opportunities to influence direction and planning, in collaboration with your colleagues and customers.

Part of the work is within Växa's and Viking's initiative to increase the pace of breeding progress, where important aspects involve embryo transfer (flushing and implantation) and other fertility work, which may in the future also include OPU.

The other part involves herd visits for preventive advice on animal health and biosecurity. Here, you create a dialogue with the customers and find opportunities for in-depth advice within ViLA or other herd advisory services.

With us, you work strategically and preventively with animal health work within Swedish milk and meat production in the field. It is a varied and enjoyable job that gives you great freedom to plan and organize your daily work under your own responsibility. The work within breeding also includes travel to other parts of the country. Mostly, working hours are scheduled during office hours on weekdays. We do not have on-call duties.

Here, there is time for both collaboration and development within your areas of responsibility. You have a large network of knowledgeable colleagues just a phone call away. A solid introduction as well as further education and skills development are a natural part of the job.

Who are you?

You are a licensed veterinarian with a B driver's license and have good knowledge of Swedish. Semen competence for cattle is a requirement, and we want you to have experience working with ultrasound examinations and fertility in cows and heifers.

You have the will and ability to further develop within preventive animal health work to deliver what our customers need to achieve sustainable and profitable food production.

Good communication skills and strong self-leadership are of great importance, and you can independently take responsibility for your work and plan your time sustainably.

Eligibility for SSB, ViLA, and HPM is an advantage but not a requirement.

Scope and location

The position is a permanent employment (after a 6-month probationary period) with a working degree of 80-100%. Fixed monthly salary.

In Västra Götaland, you can start from one of our operational sites in Vänersborg or Falköping.
