We are looking for guides for Naturum Vindelfjällen in Ammarnäs and Hemavan this summer.

Naturum Vindelfjällen aims to spread knowledge about the Vindelfjällen nature reserve, its natural and cultural values, and thus create an understanding of the importance of preserving the area. Here, visitors gain knowledge and engagement for the valuable nature as well as tips on attractions and hiking suggestions.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with information and guiding visitors within the naturum's activities. Both naturums have new exhibitions inaugurated in 2023.

Three people are needed in Hemavan and one in Ammarnäs during parts of the summer of 2025. In Hemavan, the tasks include guiding visitors in the Mountain Botanical Garden, participating in the garden's maintenance, holding guided mountain and children's tours, and welcoming visitors at the naturum. This also includes guiding in caves. In Ammarnäs, the tasks include outdoor activities for children and guiding in the reserve. In both naturums, you will work a lot with social media, take photos/videos, and create posters. For a large part of the time, you will work alone with visitors and groups. You will also work with cash handling and sales. One person in Hemavan will act as the manager during the regular manager's vacation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has mountain experience
• Has broad ecological competence with a focus on flora, fauna, and nature conservation - for the positions in Hemavan, botanical knowledge is particularly important
• Has the physical ability for easier hiking in mountain terrain
• Has good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish to perform the tasks
• Has a B driver's license.

We consider it advantageous if you also have:

• Completed or ongoing education in biology, preferably with a focus on mountain ecology, at a university or nature guide education
• Experience in nature guiding or as a tour leader
• Knowledge of Sámi culture and reindeer husbandry
• Good knowledge of English and German.

We place great importance on social skills, both with children and adults. Due to the cave guiding, you should not feel discomfort in tight spaces.

Conditions

The positions are seasonal employment and are distributed as follows:

Hemavan, three positions during the periods:

• 2025-06-16 — 2025-08-10
• 2025-06-16 — 2025-08-17
• 2025-06-16 — 2025-08-31

Ammarnäs, one position during the period:

• 2025-06-23 — 2025-08-17
