We are currently looking for a Retail Salesperson/Optical Assistant to join our team at Specsavers in Alingsås. This is a permanent full-time position, with an initial six-month probation period. Start date is immediate or as agreed. The store hours are weekdays 09:00-18:00 and Saturdays 09:00-15:00. The store is closed on Sundays and public holidays. You are expected to work according to a rolling schedule, with shifts scheduled on weekdays and an average of every other Saturday at most. We apply the Handels collective agreement.
Your responsibilities include:
- If you have experience in optics, it's a plus, but not a must – we are primarily looking for someone with the right commitment, attitude, and willingness to learn. You will participate in a comprehensive introductory course (practical training in-store combined with digital courses) where you will learn all about the optical industry and how we operate. After the course, you will be the expert that customers meet in our store in Alingsås. This means that you:
- Welcome customers, explain why it's so important to have an eye examination, and clarify our concept and offers
- Help customers find the right frames, lenses, and/or contact lenses – based on the optician's recommendations
- Ensure customers leave the store with a smile on their faces – and that they are eager to return
- Act as an ambassador for Specsavers' goal of making better eye health accessible to everyone
