The Clinic for Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care is located in Umeå, providing intensive care for children and adults, emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia with associated postoperative care, as well as sterilization services at the regional and county level in close collaboration with other clinics in the county. The clinic is also responsible for the county's and region's air doctor service. The assignment includes conducting research, development, and education.

IMA – the Intermediate Care Unit offers a varied, exciting, and developing job where care for patients with failing organ function is provided at a level that is difficult to achieve in a regular care ward, as organ-supporting treatment may be needed.

The unit has a closer staff presence and access to certain medical technical equipment that is not standard in care wards. The unit is open 24/7, every day of the year. Patients are received from care wards or the emergency department.

To facilitate the balance between work and leisure, you have the opportunity to join a work time model that allows for more recovery time and for you to be involved in planning your shifts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

During the onboarding, you will receive training together with your new colleagues in both medical technology and work methods. The unit has a coordinating nurse available 7 days a week. Since we care for patients of all categories here, except for thoracic surgery patients and children, our knowledge develops into a unique and broad knowledge base. You will work closely with nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, and doctors who together form a team around the patient and their relatives.

Since Norrland University Hospital is a teaching hospital, supervision of students may also be included. Supervising students gives us the opportunity to keep ourselves updated regarding routines and treatments for our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a certified nursing assistant education. Since the title of nursing assistant is protected, you need to provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a work certificate that allows you to use the title until June 30, 2033. We are looking for someone with a few years of experience as a nursing assistant; experience in intensive care or other healthcare is an advantage.

You have the ability to prioritize, are meticulous and responsible. You have good collaboration skills and see the benefits of working in a team while also being able to work independently. You also actively contribute to a good work environment.

For those who already have a position within Region Västerbotten, there may be opportunities for rotational service.
