Our Operations

At the Department of Acute and Specialized Pediatrics, 95 E, we see a need to increase the number of available inpatient beds. Our goal is to increase from 8 to 12 beds, and we are therefore looking for more nurses.

The Department of Acute and Specialized Pediatrics 95 E is part of the section for acute pediatric care, along with the emergency department for children and adolescents. Since we are closely connected, there is also an opportunity for rotation between the units. In the department, we care for, treat, and investigate children aged 0-18 years who need a few days of inpatient care. We primarily care for children with acute infections and medical illnesses, but we are always prepared to care for pediatric patients from other sections as well.

We who work in the section for acute pediatric care are a wonderful team passionate about our work. Our multidisciplinary team always has the sick child and their family at the center. We value good teamwork and maintain an open and accepting work climate. Patient safety and professional treatment are natural parts of our work, and we place great focus on daily, joint training sessions for the section's staff groups. We emphasize that all new employees receive a safe and structured introduction. As a new nurse, you will be offered a clinical supervisor who focuses on supporting you in your individual needs during your first year with us. Reflection after shifts and feedback after difficult patient cases are also highly valued in our operations. Thanks to our various competencies and experiences, we develop and make each other even better in our work with our patients.

As our section focuses on acutely ill pediatric patients and their relatives, there is a significant need for further education and development. Therefore, the section has development leaders and coordinators who work for safety both within the staff group and for visitors.

Your Mission

On ward 95E, you will work closely with many different professions such as nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, and the school for hospitalized children. The work involves the usual tasks for a nurse in an acute care department for children and adolescents and offers great variety in terms of difficulty, content, and pace. Since patients' conditions can change rapidly, the work is both varied and challenging. A well-functioning teamwork is therefore always in focus.

As a new nurse on 95 E, you will become part of our fantastic team and have the opportunity to grow into your new professional role as we open more beds!

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained nurse, pediatric specialist nurse, or nurse with another relevant specialist education for the position. Experience in acute pediatric care is an advantage.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in acute pediatric care and who finds it exciting to learn new things. You can easily switch work pace as patients can quickly deteriorate. You enjoy challenges and are committed to driving the operations forward together with us.

We Offer

We offer you a permanent position as a nurse or specialist nurse full-time, with a start date according to agreement. You will work in Uppsala University Hospital's point model according to rotating shifts during the day, evening, night, and weekends. There is an opportunity for rotation between 95E and the emergency department for children and adolescents.
