About the Position

At Engelbrekt School, we are looking for someone who wants to work in a qualified manner to give our students the best possible conditions to succeed in school. In your role as a student coordinator, you will be actively present during the students' school day, both in lessons and during breaks, as well as when needed in after-school activities. You will be part of the student health team where you collaborate with other support functions to ensure that students receive good support and a meaningful school time.

The position involves supporting students both socially and academically, for example by having regular follow-up conversations with students and guardians. The work may also involve managing students with high absenteeism or providing support to strengthen students' academic results. As a student coordinator, you will also work to prevent conflicts by being a safe adult in corridors, the cafeteria, and other so-called transition areas, as well as following up on conflicts that arise in conversations with those involved and their guardians.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• Guide and support students in social interactions and study situations
• Create a safe school environment and participate in the school's safety work
• Work to strengthen students' motivation for studies
• Collaborate with the school's other staff in goal fulfillment work
• Collaborate with mentors, student health, and other staff in contacts with guardians and external actors related to the students
• Work and document in the existing operational systems, e.g., service notes, reports of concern, police reports, and investigations and documentation regarding safety matters

About the Workplace

Engelbrekt School is located near Örebro's city center and our beautiful city park, specifically by Svartån (Slussen). Here, there are students from grades 4 to 9 with a total of about 620 students. The school also has adapted primary school 4-9 and after-school care for grades 4-6. The school's profile is dance and football. Engelbrekt School has been operated as a municipal intrapreneur for several years.

Qualifications

To thrive in the role of student coordinator, it is important that you are calm, secure, responsible, and stable. You are comfortable working independently while also easily collaborating with educators, student health, and principals. Furthermore, you have knowledge of children's development and learning. In the role of student coordinator, you have good collaboration skills, where you listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. We also believe that you are good at maintaining relationships over time, take the initiative to make contacts, and easily adapt to changing circumstances, considering that this is a very varied job.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree of 180 credits, such as a degree in social work, behavioral science, or another degree that the employer assesses as equivalent

Meritorious:

• Experience working with children and young people in need of support
