About the position

As a leisure teacher, you will be responsible for teaching in the leisure center. You will also teach in the classroom alongside other teachers and have a pedagogical role during the students' breaks. The work is based on an inclusive approach where all students should be able to participate. You see each student and are involved in follow-ups and efforts in student health work. An important part of your role is to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You will be part of the leisure center's work team.

Examples of tasks:

• plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in the leisure center, during breaks, and in class
• use methods and approaches that lead to increased goal fulfillment
• adapt teaching based on the group as well as individual students' needs and conditions
• support students' social development and upbringing
• create a good learning environment
• develop and drive leisure center activities based on applicable governing documents and the goals we have for the operations
• stay updated on current research in your field
• know and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the operations
• work and document in the operational systems available

About the workplace

Hovstaskolan is a F-6 school in the northern parts of Örebro municipality, about 9 km north of the city center. The school has approximately 420 students, of which about 230 children are enrolled in the leisure center. We have a nice schoolyard with great opportunities for stimulating and inspiring breaks. About 70 employees work at the school. The school is located on the outskirts of a quiet residential area with proximity to beautiful forest areas, playgrounds, and a fine sports facility.

At Hovstaskolan, there are four leisure center departments: Gnistan, Lunden, Trädet, and Lundsgård. Children who have a place in the leisure center are welcome before school starts and after school ends. Read more about our school at www.orebro.se/hovstaskolan (http://www.orebro.se/hovstaskolan).

Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, about 4530 employees work. We meet the young people of Örebro from the first day in preschool to the last day in primary school. Qualifications

As a leisure teacher, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, listen, and communicate well to contribute to a safe and calm school environment. You have knowledge of children's development and learning and can adapt teaching to both the group's and individual needs. You work in a structured manner, see opportunities where others see obstacles, and are flexible in different situations throughout the day, from teaching in the classroom to creative activities in leisure. You are confident in taking responsibility, lead activities with engagement, and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with children, guardians, and other staff both orally and in writing. You can document in writing what the operations require, in the programs available.

Requirements:

• pedagogical education that provides a teaching license with authorization to teach in leisure centers

• experience of working in schools and leisure centers
