Department 54 has 27 care places, exclusively isolation rooms. We care for patients in need of good nursing and medical care. They have varying infectious diseases such as pneumonia, UTI, sepsis, endocarditis, tuberculosis, multi-resistant bacteria, skin and soft tissue infections, covid-19, among others, often with acute conditions which provides you with broad competence and experience.

As an assistant nurse, you will work in a team with other assistant nurses and nurses. You will perform advanced nursing and medical technical tasks that are both enjoyable and developmental.

You have a professional attitude towards your role, and we place great importance on personal qualities such as collaboration skills, positive attitude, and engagement. Flexibility is an important trait as situations can change rapidly, from calm nursing to acute events.

We are looking for someone who is an assistant nurse and has completed the Health and Care Program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education.

You have experience in infectious disease care as well as elderly care.

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, the title assistant nurse is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than assistant nurse. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title assistant nurse when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title assistant nurse.
