The Eye Care Unit operates in both Malmö and Lund. In addition to meeting the residents' needs for eye care in Lund and Malmö, we also provide regional healthcare for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.

At the Eye Surgery Unit in Lund, there are four operating rooms. We have a large flow of patients of varying ages, including children. We perform various procedures such as retinal surgery, cataract surgery, plastic surgery, corneal transplants, tear duct surgery, strabismus surgery, and more. Our operations consist of both emergency and planned surgeries performed under general or local anesthesia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone interested in working in an exciting and rapidly developing surgical department. In the role of surgical nurse, we offer you a responsible, stimulating, varied, and developmental job, where both technical and nursing skills are required. As a surgical nurse, you will work in a team within perioperative care.

The working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The position also includes on-call duty every eighth weekend and one weekday every other week.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive with us, we expect you to be interested in eyes and want to actively work to combine nursing, medicine, and technology. You are confident in your work as a surgical nurse and have a positive attitude and adaptability to changing circumstances. Additionally, you have a good ability to organize work and can make independent decisions while also having good collaboration skills. Since we are keen to find the right person for the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Regarding formal requirements, we are looking for a licensed nurse or ophthalmic nurse authorized to work within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you should have a specialist education in surgical nursing. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. Furthermore, we would prefer that you have several years of experience in surgical operations, but this is not a requirement. It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of the systems Meilor, Orbit, and Pasis.
