Our Job Offer
Psychiatry South West belongs to SLSO within Region Stockholm and is a university clinic that is involved in driving the development of Swedish psychiatry.
PSV offers a wide range of psychiatric care. As a resident physician with us, you will be placed in various departments and clinics according to your individually designed training program. The clinic's operations, five inpatient wards with different specialties, an ECT unit, and an emergency clinic, as well as seven outpatient clinics, are all located in Flemingsberg at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge.
With us, you will be taken care of by the administration, the ST program director, a main supervisor, and the ST group. We hold ST meetings every month for continuing education purposes. Every Monday during the semesters, we have internal training during lunch. Flexible working hours and an annual wellness allowance of 5000 SEK are included. As a research-oriented resident physician, you are also welcome to participate in one of the research groups for collegial support, supervision, and education.
As a resident physician at Psychiatry South West, we strive to help you grow into the role of a competent and experienced specialist in psychiatry. You will become part of a friendly and dynamic ST group of over 40 colleagues. At PSV, you will work alongside senior physicians in both outpatient and inpatient care, many of whom are active in research and have specialized expertise in their field.
Job Description
With us, you will receive a complete ST training with engaged supervision. You will also need to attend necessary courses and additional training to achieve specialist competence. The ST position includes on-call duties, including night shifts.
Qualifications
Licensed physician in Sweden, preferably with experience in psychiatry. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing (at least C1).
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Interest in research, teaching, and leadership is meritorious.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in psychiatry who wants to help develop psychiatric care in Sweden. You have solid and broad knowledge and competence within Swedish healthcare and are collaborative. You should also be willing to supervise and be supervised by colleagues. Pedagogical skills are valued. You are knowledgeable about and follow evidence-based treatment methods and continuously update your knowledge.

The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be used for internal relocation, according to applicable regulations.
For patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:
- background checks will be applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during hiring.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to applicable directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
