Personal Assistant Needed in Skövde

We are now looking for an additional engaged and reliable personal assistant for our client in Skövde. We are seeking someone who wants to work with something important and meaningful. Through personal assistance and LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons), he has the opportunity to live his life to the fullest, despite having significant support needs.

Our client needs assistance at all hours of the day except when he is at daily activities during parts of the day. Therefore, working hours are mostly afternoons, evenings, and nights – as well as weekdays and weekends. Double assistance occurs during certain shifts when you as assistants work two by two.

He has a moderate intellectual disability with autism and ADHD. He requires constant supervision. He enjoys cooking, baking, music, and likes to sit with his tablet. He needs your help as an assistant to stay active. For example, during outdoor activities such as walks, bike rides, and swimming.

Sometimes he gets a little mischievous – so it is important that the assistants are always attentive to him and what he is up to. The assistants also help with communication as he lacks spoken language and communicates with the help of pictures and some signs as support. It is a plus if you know sign language or are willing to learn and want to further develop communication. The client lives in an apartment with a patio and needs help with everything from activities, hygiene, cooking, shopping, and household chores like cleaning and laundry.

Assistant's Role and Experience

We are looking for someone who is calm, reliable, and wants to become an important person in his daily life. It is an advantage if you have worked with children or individuals with disabilities. However, the most important thing is your personality and your ability to meet and understand his needs and provide support. Personal qualities weigh heavier. You will receive guidance, introduction, and training on-site.

Desirable Experience

• Swedish in speech and writing.
• Experience in similar work.
• Sign language communication.

Working Hours/Employment Rate

• Hourly employment, which can transition into a smaller position.
• Daytime – afternoon/evening, part of the night as on-call and weekends.
