About Us

We are looking for 1 special educator for our principal areas in the municipality, Ilsbo School and Arthur Engberg School in Hassela.

As a special educator, you will be part of the school's student health team along with the school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist. The student health team is led by the school's principal. We actively work with school development and collegial learning to increase goal fulfillment. Our strategies are leadership, accessible learning environments, and all-day learning.

Your Mission

As a special educator, you are a qualified conversation partner for the principal, work teams, and individual educators in special educational matters. Your work is directed towards promoting and preventive efforts for individuals, groups, and organizations. You participate in student health meetings (EHM) and are part of the school's student health team (EHT). You conduct investigations regarding the need for special support and provide assistance in the development and follow-up of action programs. Through supervision, you contribute with in-depth knowledge that helps develop the pedagogical work in the organization. You stay updated on new special educational research and literature to share with the organization. In addition to preventive and promotional work towards general adaptations, you also carry out special educational interventions in the classroom for and with students, e.g., assessments. You participate in networks with colleagues within the municipality for experience exchange and collegial learning. You collaborate with other actors and institutions, e.g., BUP, HAB.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who has a degree as a special educator. Previous experience as a special educator in primary school is an advantage.

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are structured and solution-focused. You believe that special educational work should strive for promoting and preventive efforts towards groups and organizations rather than remedial work at the individual level. You are clear in your leadership but also have a good ability to create positive relationships. Creating positive encounters with students, guardians, and colleagues is important to us and to you. You are a central person in the organization, which requires good social skills and collaboration ability, as well as being positive, flexible, and communicative.
