JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you attracted to enabling a developing and inclusive future for newly arrived children and youth? Then this could be a position for you! We are looking for an engaged mother tongue teacher! Come and help shape Gävle's future with us.

The students should be given the opportunity to develop and consolidate subject knowledge based on their linguistic conditions, which is why we are now seeking a mother tongue teacher in Romanian for Gävle Municipality's primary schools. The work is carried out in collaboration with other educators, student health, and guardians.

As a mother tongue teacher in Romanian, your responsibilities will include:

• teaching the language
• teaching students about the culture and traditions of the countries where the language is spoken

The teaching follows a curriculum that has a comparative purpose, which means that you must also have good Swedish language skills.

For students who have difficulty meeting the knowledge requirements or keeping up in other subjects, you as a mother tongue teacher can support through study guidance. This involves highlighting or deepening students' knowledge in an area where Swedish concepts need to be clarified and discussed in the mother tongue.

The position is part-time at 30%.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the advertisement has expired.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be able to perform the assignment, you must:

• master Romanian fluently in both spoken and written form
• master Swedish fluently in both spoken and written form
• be able to work based on the goals of the organization and follow planning

It is important that you:

• feel comfortable standing and speaking, reading, or writing in front of a larger group of children or youth
• have a relationship-building approach
• can create an open dialogue
• adapt your behavior based on the situation
• have a humble attitude in your collaboration with others
