Description

We are now looking for a new teaching assistant for Kungsladugård School's adapted primary school.

The position is a temporary contract for the spring term of 2026.

Kungsladugård School is a F-6 school with approximately 620 students. Our organization also includes an adapted primary school with about 35 students. The school is located in Majorna, close to many beautiful environments, including Slottsskogen and Svaleboskogen. It is also easy to get to the city and Gothenburg's southern archipelago by tram and bus. Kungsladugård School's fundamental belief is that all children are everyone's children.

Job Responsibilities

As a teaching assistant, you will be part of a class working team with the class teacher, leisure home teacher, and other teaching assistants. You will support students both during the school day and in leisure activities. You will work on building relationships with the students, being attentive to their needs, and supporting them with schoolwork, activities, transitions, as well as hygiene and toilet visits.

You will collaborate with colleagues, guardians, and other individuals around the student. You can manage daily routines and also be involved in developing methods and routines to help students progress as far as possible.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education, preferably in Child and Leisure or Health and Care. You also have an additional qualification in the field of adapted primary school, such as teaching assistant or support assistant. The position requires at least 6 months of experience working with children in adapted primary schools. To succeed in the role, you need to express yourself fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.

We prefer candidates who have worked with children and students with intellectual disabilities at various developmental levels, as well as with children with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). Knowledge of signs such as Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), as well as experience with clear pedagogical methods and visual support, is also very valuable. Students need support in social interaction, communication, and care. Therefore, you need to be secure, calm, and stable as a person.

You are relationship-building and have a professional attitude towards students, colleagues, and guardians. You have good collaboration skills and are attentive to your colleagues. You reflect on ethical and value-based issues. You have a strong commitment and a good ability to see each student's opportunities and needs and stay one step ahead. To motivate, inspire, and challenge students, you use your ability to show humility, warmth, and set boundaries. You are responsive, flexible, and patient.
