Nursing homes provide a safe living environment for the elderly with significant daily care and support needs, as well as individuals with dementia. We have eight nursing homes located both centrally and in our surrounding areas. The operation is part of the care and support sector of Skövde Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now seeking a new employee for the night shift at Skaraborg County Hospital!

We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of care assistant with us, you have the opportunity to help create the best living environment for our users. Our work is based on our guiding principles of safety, responsibility, and respectful interaction, and you play a significant role in the well-being of the residents. You work carefully and professionally with the user, in collaboration with others in the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professional groups and relatives.

As a care assistant, you are responsible for ensuring that our users, based on their individual needs, receive social support and care. The assignment also includes performing delegated and prescribed healthcare interventions, according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).

Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the work.

Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between different units. This means that you will also work shifts in other departments and nursing homes than the one you normally work in.

In this role, you will only work nights (weekdays and every other weekend).

QUALIFICATIONS

To work as a care assistant with us, you need to have a completed high school education from the health and care program or equivalent. It is advantageous if you have had other similar work, preferably with a specialization in dementia, elderly care, or welfare technology, as well as previous experience with delegated tasks.

As a person, you need to be responsible and service-oriented, putting the individual's needs at the center. You are good at collaborating with colleagues, users, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. We believe that we build a better operation through cooperation and development together with others. You find it easy to create relationships and have a respectful approach. You are a driven person who is not afraid to take initiative. You are secure in your work role and can make independent decisions.

In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the user need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You have computer skills and preferably experience with social documentation.

Skövde Municipality is a Finnish administrative area; if you have knowledge of the Finnish language, it is especially welcome.

Upon employment, a police record extract must be presented.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of care assistant became a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title of care assistant within health and social care.
