About the Position

At GöteborgsOperan's Costume, Makeup, and Wardrobe department, approximately 55 skilled specialists work in a creative, production-intensive environment where craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation meet.

Do you also want to work creatively and with pride in the heart of performing arts? GöteborgsOperan is looking for an engaged men's tailor – a key role in the creation of stage costumes for our productions.

Main Responsibilities

As a tailor, you will create stage costumes for GöteborgsOperan's productions based on the costume designer's sketches.

You will be responsible for production planning, construction, production, and documentation within the framework of budget and hours. As a tailor, you will also be responsible for delegating tasks to the seamstresses in the costume manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Education in men's tailoring and cutting
  • Good computer skills (e.g., MS Office)
  • Knowledge of textile materials and costume craftsmanship

Meritorious

  • Experience in a cutting role in a production-intensive environment
  • Work experience in theater, opera, or other performing arts productions
  • Knowledge of computerized pattern construction, preferably in CLO

Language Skills

Swedish, both spoken and written
