Ekgården is a nursing home where individuals are offered care, support, and services characterized by professional treatment. The operations include social and cultural stimulation so that residents can experience joy in their daily lives. Ekgården is located in a pleasant environment in central Ekerö and is operated by the municipality. The residence has 59 places divided into 6 units, of which 4 are somatic, 2 units for individuals with cognitive disorders, and 1 unit for short-term placements. The residence has its own kitchen where all meals and meal boxes for home care clients are prepared.

In the spring of 2026, Ekgården will move to newly built premises at Träkvista Square.
What does the role entail?
As an activity coordinator, you play a key role in creating a stimulating and safe everyday life for our residents. You plan, coordinate, and implement activities that promote their physical, mental, and social well-being. The work involves starting from each individual's needs, interests, and abilities – and contributing to an environment where community and quality of life are at the center.
Your main tasks:
- Plan and implement both individual and group activities, such as social gatherings, cultural elements, and movement activities.
- Adapt activities according to the residents' wishes and conditions.
- Create structure in everyday life and acknowledge holidays and seasonal traditions.
- Document completed activities.
- Lead and convene our activity council for planning joint holidays, music events, and larger activities together with activity representatives.
- Support colleagues in planning and executing smaller activities in the units.
- Motivate residents to participate based on their interests and needs.
- Build networks and collaborate with local organizations, schools, and volunteers to enrich the operations.
Working hours:
You primarily work daytime Monday–Friday, but some evening and weekend work may occur during special events.
Qualifications

Formal requirements:
- At least a high school education.
- Good computer skills.
- Communicative and proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
Meritorious:
- Certified care dog team.
- Assistant nurse with professional certification.
- Experience in a similar role.
Start date: 2026-04-01
Extent: Full-time
Employment type: Permanent. Probationary employment according to collective agreement.
How to get to Ekerö Municipality
To be employed by Ekerö Municipality in elderly care, you must present an extract (HVB) from the police's criminal record together with valid photo identification before employment. You can request the extract on the police's website. The extract should not be older than six months from the date of issue.
