Are you a driven and forward-thinking person who enjoys getting things done? As a mechanic in Central Maintenance, section Field Mechanics, you will primarily work on maintenance tasks throughout the entire SSAB area. Location: Luleå.

The main task of the maintenance department is to provide competent and effective maintenance services to ensure high operational availability of our facilities and production equipment.

Field Mechanics perform corrective mechanical maintenance on the facilities. Within the Field Mechanics section, tasks include welding and repair of steel structures, heavy assembly of drive equipment (electric motors, gearboxes, etc.), and bearing assembly.

The work includes reporting and recording completed maintenance efforts in the maintenance system, IFS.

In accordance with SSAB's management philosophy, you contribute to ongoing safety and improvement efforts, together with your workgroup and other partners.

The position is full-time and working hours are during the day. For those interested, there is also the opportunity to replace shift mechanics during short absences.

Your main responsibilities

• Provide competent and effective maintenance services.
• Corrective mechanical maintenance on the facilities.
• Welding and repairs of steel structures, heavy assembly of drive equipment.

About you

• You have at least a high school education with a focus on workshops/mechanics and experience in maintenance work. If you also have welding experience, we consider it an advantage.
• A valid driver's license (B) is required.
• Fluent Swedish in both spoken and written form is required.
• You need to have the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions.
• You understand the importance of the collective effort of the workgroup to achieve set goals.
• You have good social skills as the job involves contact with customers and partners.
• You are driven and curious to learn new things.
• You prioritize safety for both yourself and your colleagues.
