ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is wholly owned by Enköping Municipality through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. The company has been producing electricity and district heating from almost 100% biofuel since the mid-90s, when the combined heat and power plant was commissioned. ENA Energi AB has over 40 employees and delivers approximately 220 GWh to around 1,800 customers through a district heating network that spans 120 km and produces about 75 GWh of electricity.

About the role

As an operation technician with us, you work closely with the process and have a clear responsibility for the whole. You are part of a shift team together with an operations engineer and are responsible for ensuring that the facility operates safely, economically, and environmentally correctly.

The work includes, among other things:

• Independent rounds and monitoring of the facility

• Operator maintenance and systematic deviation reporting

• Planning and execution of shutdowns and startups

• Active participation in prioritizing operational and maintenance efforts

• Participation in revision work and development of operational methods and process solutions

The facility consists of a wood chip-fired combined heat and power unit with an associated steam turbine, flue gas cooler, and water treatment. Additionally, there are steam and hot water boilers using pellets and oil as fuel. The role involves significant responsibility and great variety – from fuel feeding to ash handling and, for example, operating a wheel loader. We are in the process of building new boilers and facilities.

Shift work is the main rule, but periods of daytime work and on-call duty may occur.

Who we believe you are

You are confident in your role as an operation technician and used to working independently in a process or combined heat and power environment. You have a developed safety mindset, a good understanding of the interplay in the facility, and the ability to make well-considered decisions even when conditions change rapidly. Operations do not always go as planned, and a high degree of flexibility is required. But with this comes a varied and meaningful job with great freedom under responsibility.

Qualifications

• Technical education (university, YH/KY or equivalent)

• Several years of experience from combined heat and power plants or process industry

• Experience with solid fuel facilities is an advantage

• Boiler operator certification is an advantage

• Knowledge of water chemistry and change management is an advantage

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

• B driver's license

The position is a full-time position based in Enköping. Start date by agreement. On-call duty may occur with a response time of 1 hour.
