The Swedish Armed Forces is looking for reinforcement in Technical Surveillance

The Swedish Armed Forces is seeking new employees in Technical Surveillance for FMTIS, located in Enköping.

About the unit

FMTIS has five units that perform operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The Implementation Unit Mitt (GE Mitt) is one of them and conducts activities that ensure the Armed Forces' ability to communicate and lead, around the clock - all year round. The unit has a geographical spread in central Sweden and Visby and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The Implementation Department Enköping Tele consists of two sections with different focuses, and the number of employees in the department currently totals approximately 25.

Main tasks

  • Conversion, installation, and commissioning of alarm components
  • Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of alarm systems.
  • Report and document ongoing and completed work
  • The role may also involve supporting other parts of the unit as needed.

The work is carried out both independently and in teams and is mainly conducted at facilities primarily in region Mitt. This involves daily travel to and from facilities starting from the workplace in Enköping. On-call duty is included in the position.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education with a focus on electrical and energy programs or other post-secondary education and/or experiences that we assess as equivalent.
  • Actively worked with alarm installation or other low-current installations that can be assessed as equivalent.
  • Experience with wired alarm components.
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Driver's license at least *B*

PREFERABLE

  • Good knowledge and understanding of networks and IT infrastructure
  • Electrical authorization
  • Experience with the Armed Forces and knowledge of our command and communication systems as well as the technical service within the Armed Forces with its maintenance plans within the mentioned technical areas.
  • Training in hot work
  • Completed military service or basic military training.
  • Driver's license **C**

Other

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Enköping, although some travel and overnight stays are required within the service.
