The Technical and Community Service Administration carries out essential community work every day, such as managing, maintaining, and developing streets, parks, properties, and sports facilities, cleaning, cooking, collecting waste, delivering water, and treating sewage. We also help Motala municipality grow sustainably with a holistic perspective and provide conditions for doing things right in a simple and legally secure way.

The Water & Waste Management unit is responsible for all activities concerning water and sewage services as well as waste management within the municipalities of Motala and Vadstena.

The position is located within the Technical and Community Service Administration, Water and Waste Management unit, VA-Works. The unit consists of about 20 employees.

The main task of the unit is to be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of water and sewage treatment plants within the municipalities of Motala and Vadstena. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipalities' sewage and stormwater pumping stations, pressure boosting stations, and drinking water reservoirs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your tasks as a project manager in the VA-Works unit are to plan, lead, and follow up on investment projects within the water and sewage sector (VA). You will drive projects from idea to implementation and completion, focusing on sustainability, quality, and cost-effectiveness in close collaboration with the operations organization. You will collaborate with colleagues, internal units, contractors, and authorities.

Main tasks

• Lead projects such as reconstruction and renovation of waterworks and treatment plants in close coordination with operations
• Prepare decision-making documents, project plans, budgets, resources, as well as activity and time schedules
• Conduct follow-ups of ongoing and completed investment projects regarding goals/quality, time, resources, and economy
• Prepare tender documents and conduct procurements
• Conduct investigations

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal qualifications:

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in areas such as construction, engineering, machinery, water technology, or process engineering, or alternatively a post-secondary technical education and extensive experience in the field. You can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have good communication skills. A B driver's license is required for the position.

You have several years of experience in project management within water and sewage, construction, or civil engineering. You also have a good ability to use project management tools and digital platforms. You have experience with contract law, AKB, and AB/ABT and have conducted procurements according to LOU. You have an understanding of environmental legislation and occupational safety requirements, and experience with BAS P/Bas U and developing safety plans.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in driving projects within the water and sewage industry
• Certification in project management
• Conducted procurements according to LUF.
• Experience collaborating with municipalities and authorities

Personal qualifications:

As a person, you are structured and analytical. You have good collaboration skills and are communicative with both those involved in the project and those affected by the project.

You are solution-oriented with a clear ability to handle complex issues. You can create engagement in the project group to collectively achieve agreed goals.

You are proactive and take responsibility for fulfilling your commitments within the given frameworks.
