JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be at the center of events? Do you have great patience, enjoy meeting people, and see it as a given to act based on equal treatment and the police's values? Now you have the chance to work as a detention guard with us this summer.

As a detention guard, you will be part of a smaller group of detention guards led by a group manager. You will work with supervision and monitoring of detained individuals and participate in searches, sampling, body searches, photography, evidence collection, and fingerprinting. Your tasks will also include monitoring and transporting individuals who are to be interrogated or transported. The handling of the detained individuals must be done in a correct and legally secure manner. Other administrative tasks that support the operation may occur.

There may be an opportunity for hourly employment after the summer.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • a completed high school diploma or what the employer assesses as equivalent
  • a strong interest in working with people and see a challenge in the fact that the work can sometimes be demanding
  • a B driver's license (manual)
  • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

It is an advantage if you also:

  • are a student at the Police Academy and have completed the courses in self-defense and law with passing results, this merit is particularly advantageous.
  • have completed the police detention guard training with passing results
  • have completed the correctional education with passing results
  • have an approved security guard training
  • have previous work experience in working with/meeting people in vulnerable and/or problematic situations, for example from healthcare, psychiatry, school, correctional services, security guard, orderly guard, or protective guard
  • have experience in administrative tasks such as documentation skills

Personal qualities:

We are looking for someone who acts with maturity, integrity, and can behave calmly and professionally even in stressful situations. You have good self-awareness, empathetic ability, and can adapt your approach and demeanor for conflict prevention. As a detention guard, you apply a high level of security thinking, which means you are reliable in situations where physical violence may occur, and you are good at both collaborating and working independently depending on the situation. The role requires the ability to prioritize and quickly switch between tasks and pace, as well as to take initiative in your work. Since the job involves physical work, we also require good physical fitness.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

OTHER

A prerequisite for being considered for the position is that you are available to work the entire period from June 8 to August 30, 2026. If you are selected for employment, you do not have the right to vacation leave. Instead, you will receive vacation compensation paid after the employment ends.

Occasional shorter leave with pay deductions may be granted if the operation allows it and then by agreement with the manager.
