Seasonal Park Workers Wanted at Järva District Administration

We need to strengthen the operation with seasonal park workers during the period from April to October to continue creating a sustainable and attractive urban environment in Järva.

We are now looking for 15 park workers.

As a seasonal park worker, you will be part of the unit for the operation of parks and green areas. The unit consists of three team leaders and a team of park workers and gardeners led by a unit manager. The group is based in a common operational facility in Sundby, where the workshop, machine hall, storage, canteen, and office are located.

The seasonal employment will start in two rounds. When you submit your application, you will be able to choose which period you are interested in.

We will hire for the period:

• April 1 to September 30, 2026
• May 4 to October 31, 2026

The position is a seasonal employment at 100%. Working hours are Monday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, and Friday 7:00 AM - 1:15 PM, weekend work will occur. You have the opportunity for wellness grants to ensure you feel good throughout the work period.

Your role

As a park worker, you contribute to creating a well-maintained and pleasant environment for the residents of Järva. The operation carries out assignments with the goal of working long-term, sustainably, and circularly. You will work outdoors with cleaning and green area maintenance together with other seasonal workers and regular park workers and gardeners.

Your tasks will vary and will include, for example:

• green area maintenance, such as lawn mowing and weeding,
• cleaning,
• planting and watering of trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.,
• supervision of playgrounds, dog parks, outdoor gyms, among others,
• maintenance and repair of park and playground equipment.

The work is physically demanding and is performed in all weather conditions, making it suitable for you who enjoy being active and thrive in outdoor environments.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• documented experience of practical work with green area maintenance and/or a completed or ongoing education focused on gardening, green area maintenance, or another equivalent direction, or have undergone the labor market initiative Järvavärdar.
• A driver's license for passenger cars. For those who have completed the Järvavärdar initiative, the driver's license requirement does not apply.
• communication skills in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working with handheld machines such as trimmers, leaf blowers, and experience with riding lawnmowers.

In your role, you meet the residents of Järva daily and are the face of the district. Therefore, good service and a pleasant demeanor are a given for you, and you are driven to create pleasant and well-maintained outdoor environments. You are persistent, work independently, and enjoy working outdoors. You thrive in teamwork with colleagues and have the ability to easily adapt to changing tasks and priorities.

About the recruitment process:

If you are called for an interview, it will take place digitally via Zoom with a recruitment consultant. Prepare two references in supervisory roles, of which at least one is a salary-setting manager. Alternatively, a teacher/mentor for those who have ongoing or recently completed education.

If you proceed after the interview and reference checks, you will be booked for an information meeting on-site at the operational facility in Sundby where you will meet the unit manager and a team leader. An agreement on the work period, introduction, and salary will be made with the unit manager.
