As an Innovation and IP Engineer at FläktGroup, you will work closely with technology and product development engineers to identify, develop, and strengthen technical innovations in line with FläktGroup's IP strategies. This is a hands-on, technical role for someone with deep product understanding who wants to use patents and IP as a strategic tool in development work.

About our function

At FläktGroup, we work with products and systems for indoor climate, ventilation for residential, commercial buildings, and industries. Here in Jönköping, we manufacture air handling units, rotary heat exchangers, and cooling baffles. R&D is responsible for development, product improvements, and knowledge building, focusing on future energy-efficient systems and world-class indoor climate. Our function consists of teams in mechanical design, control & regulation, testing, project management, and technology development. We also have one of Europe’s largest and most advanced labs for ventilation. With us, you will be involved in the entire chain – from development and testing to finished products delivered to customers.

About the position

In the role of Innovation and IP Engineer, you will be part of Global Technology and work at the intersection of technology, innovation, and patent strategy. You will serve as a technical and innovation-driven sounding board for the development organization and be responsible for identifying and driving patenting opportunities related to our products, systems, and technical solutions.

The role combines strategic and operational work with both technical and coordinating elements, where patents and intellectual property rights are used as tools to strengthen our innovation and product development.

Your main responsibilities

In the role of Innovation and IP Engineer, you will proactively monitor competitors, patents, and technology development. You will analyze and disseminate relevant patent and technology information and identify new patenting opportunities in both ongoing and future development work.

You will have overall responsibility for FläktGroup's IP rights, including identifying and following up on potential patent infringements, as well as working with patent objections and following up on patented solutions in our product portfolios. The role also includes supporting inventors in the patenting process and communicating with patent agencies.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and a genuine interest in patents and innovation work. You enjoy working with patents, but your main strength lies in technology and understanding products, systems, and market needs related to the HVAC industry.

You have a master's degree, for example in engineering physics, mechanical engineering, energy, or equivalent, and preferably at least five years of experience in engineering work. You have a very good technical understanding and strong analytical skills. Experience with patent work is an advantage, as is a background in HVAC and cooling and heating pump technology.

You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and have a B driver's license.

To succeed in this role, you are communicative and collaborative and enjoy working closely with both development teams and other functions. You are structured and process-oriented, even when conditions are unclear or changing, and have the ability to remain calm and objective in challenging situations.

You have a business-oriented approach and are curious about market and customer needs. At the same time, you are creative and innovation-driven, with the ability to think outside the box.
