Senior Social Worker at Svalöv Municipality

Our unit consists of a reception team that serves as the entry point to social services for children, youth, families, and adults. It includes a child team that investigates and follows up on approved interventions, a foster care team that assesses and supports our foster homes and our placed children, as well as our adult team focusing on social change work related to domestic violence, social psychiatry, and harmful use and addiction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a senior social worker, you will provide support and guidance in the daily work to the social workers in our reception, in our child team, and to our foster care team. The primary task for the senior social worker is to provide case supervision and methodological guidance, both individually and in groups, primarily within the child and youth area. This also means being an additional guarantee that cases are updated and managed from a child perspective and within time frames.
The role includes staying updated on new research, legislation, and directives, as well as being responsible for the daily operational work. You will be involved in creating and maintaining routines and functioning processes. In close collaboration with the unit manager and staff, you will follow up on the unit's goals and needs moving forward.
This is a responsible job that requires a high level of commitment and extensive knowledge of relevant laws, primarily SoL, LVU, and LBSB, as well as assessments of when investigations for adults should be initiated or not. Furthermore, you need to be comfortable representing the unit in committees and boards, and also in court if necessary. This naturally requires that you are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing.
As a senior social worker, you will:
- Lead team and individual supervision
- Act as an expert and support social workers in their daily work
- Provide emotional support and act as a sounding board in various situations that staff may encounter in their role as social workers
- Follow rulings, laws, and developments in the field
- Be responsible for reviewing case handling in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines, considering the best interests of the child or young person
- Read written materials and provide feedback
- Identify and drive improvement proposals
- Maintain routines within the unit and highlight needs for updates and changes
- Represent cases before the board, administrative court, and administrative court of appeal
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a good work environment
Your assignment will be carried out in close collaboration with the unit manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
The role requires extensive detailed knowledge in the field and a good ability to stay updated. We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker and has several years of current experience in public authority operations according to the Social Services Act concerning children and youth. You thus have very good knowledge of current legislation and case handling for children, youth, and their families, as well as good knowledge of and experience with BBIC.
High demands are placed on your administrative abilities and your ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing. The position of senior social worker also requires that you have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work, as well as ensure that tasks are completed and feedback is provided in a timely manner. In your daily work as a senior social worker, you carry significant responsibility for setting the tone for how we meet the families we encounter, with the best interests of the child or young person in focus.
You are communicative, clear, attentive, and humble in your role, and have the ability to formulate information or messages so that everyone understands. Furthermore, you are secure and stable in yourself and your work. You maintain calm and have the ability to keep the right focus even in pressured and complex situations. As a person, we see that you have a good ability to coach, motivate, and challenge staff to develop in their work. Additionally, we also see that you easily adapt to different people and situations, and that you can meet each employee at their level and according to their needs for support and guidance in their work. - You are a qualified social worker
- You have several years of experience in the social services authority's operations focused on children, youth, and families.
- Leadership experience is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of attachment, solution-focused conversation methods, and child development is an advantage.
- You have a good ability to communicate, collaborate, treat others with respect, and implement decisions made.
- You are motivating and encouraging, contributing to a good team spirit.
- You understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization, can relate to it, and know how it affects your daily work situation.
- You have digital skills and easily express yourself in speech and writing.
