Special Educator/Special Teacher at Kristinegymnasiet
Kristinegymnasiet is one of the high schools in the municipality of Falun, strategically located in the city center of Falun in the beautiful educational institution. Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a special educator/special teacher. As a special educator/special teacher, you will be part of the school's student health team and an important part of the promoting and preventive work. Together with the student health team, you will visit classes in the promoting work. You will also work operationally to support teachers in teaching situations, where lesson observations are an important part. You will ensure that students receive the right support and that teachers have the right knowledge to structure teaching so that it becomes accessible to all students.
Together with the student health team, you will be responsible for planning and driving the work regarding support at the individual, group, and organizational level, as well as for students in need of special support. In collaboration with teachers and guardians, you will provide support in adapting studies for students. You will establish action programs and conduct investigations, such as pedagogical mappings, as needed.
You will support students with structure, planning, and study techniques. We expect you to have a good familiarity with compensatory aids and competence regarding digital learning tools.
Qualifications
The following is required for the role:
- We are looking for someone who is a qualified special educator or special teacher and has relevant experience working as a special educator or special teacher at the high school level.
- Previous experience in teaching is a requirement, and it is an advantage if you have worked with high school students.
- You have documented experience in establishing action programs and conducting pedagogical investigations, as well as good knowledge of and practical experience working with students who have reading and writing difficulties or challenges in mathematics.
- We also see that you have knowledge of, and experience with, language-developing working methods and that you are driven to create conditions for all students to reach their full potential.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who builds good relationships and has a good approach, as well as the ability to individually tailor your support based on students' needs in a flexible and attentive manner. You are trust-building and have a genuine interest in ensuring that every student develops and grows. To succeed in this role, we see that you are proactive, solution-oriented, and have good communication skills.
Finally, it is important that you have a professional attitude in your interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians, and a good understanding of people's different circumstances. You find it easy to collaborate and create good working relationships with a coaching and mentoring approach.
Meritorious Qualifications
- We would like you to have experience working with students with NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) or have worked with students who have a mother tongue other than Swedish.
- Experience collaborating with other professionals such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, etc.
