The Mission of the Social Administration

The mission of the Social Administration is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respect for the individual's right to decide over their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and support, assistance for people with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. Our goal is for everyone to receive the support and care they need.

The Workplace

The Social Committee is responsible for the department of prevention, health and care, the department of care and support, the department of functional support, the department of individual and family care, and the department of quality and development. The committee's gross budget amounts to approximately 1100 million SEK, and the administration has about 1200 employees. We work to be a sustainable and attractive municipality all year round, characterized by creativity and optimism for the future.

The Social Administration is in an exciting phase of development. The starting point for the changes will be that the administration will embody the idea of an operation that works for social security with openness, respect, and responsibility, and will work to enable an independent life for those who live and stay in the municipality.

We Are Now Looking For

We are now looking for an experienced department head for the quality and development department, which handles committee matters, legal issues, administrative services, as well as the development of technology, digitization, and system management. The department has about twenty employees.

Job Responsibilities

You will ensure and further develop the administration's operations. Together, we create conditions for the administration's resources to be used efficiently and in the best way. We emphasize achieving operational goals within the existing economic frameworks. You will be directly subordinate to the head of administration and will be responsible for the administration's budget, operational plan, follow-up, and annual accounts with analysis. You will be part of the administration's management group and thus share the overall responsibility for the management and development of social services in Trelleborg municipality. You are comfortable with and interested in continuing the work with digitization and welfare technology within the department.

An important part of the assignment is to lead the operational area, primarily through your employees, to create a shared understanding and a strong holistic perspective. As a department head, you have a communicative leadership style characterized by dialogue, clarity, and presence. You recognize the importance of supporting and coaching your employees in their daily work. You easily build trusting relationships and have good collaboration skills with both employees and trade unions. Through your experience and broad knowledge, you find new and sustainable paths in the challenges the administration faces, focusing on development, structure, and systematic improvement work. Monitoring the external environment and future issues are important areas within the assignment. You have personnel, economic, and work environment responsibilities.

Qualifications

You have the required university or college degree that the employer deems relevant. Previous leadership experience with personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility is a requirement. You also have experience leading specialist functions. You have experience in public operations, and it is advantageous if you have experience working within social services. A requirement is that you have a good understanding of the municipal committee and decision-making process and what it means to work in a politically governed organization. As a department head, you are required to have understanding and good knowledge of applicable legislation, budget processes, and personnel issues.

You see the big picture with an eye for details, are analytical, structured, and meticulous. An interest in economic management and economic development work with a business perspective is a prerequisite. You apply a goal- and result-oriented working method. You are used to working with both strategic development issues and everyday problem-solving. Your leadership is characterized by commitment and a positive view of people. A strong interest in technical solutions and leading development work within social services is advantageous. You have experience motivating and inspiring your employees in their daily work and during change processes. You should have a good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing.

Characteristic of you as a person is that you are unpretentious and attentive, and that you can see issues from different perspectives. Your leadership is marked by clarity, and you create a lively dialogue around the vision and mission in which everyone has a voice. We place great importance on personal suitability.
