The Medicine Clinic is part of Primary Care in Eastern Östergötland, responsible for close healthcare for over 180,000 residents in Norrköping and surrounding areas. The Medicine Clinic is a central clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset and has a broad internal medicine operation with two wards, a large outpatient clinic in various specialty areas, and a nephrology unit. We investigate and treat lung diseases, allergies, blood diseases, diabetes, endocrine diseases, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, neurological diseases, and strokes. We also have a close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Linköping University (LiU) regarding research and teaching medical students and other professions in training. The clinic also has two doctoral students, supervised by our professors on site.

Job Description

The clinic needs another lung specialist, as one of our employees will retire next year.

The lung clinic has patients from the entire exciting spectrum of pulmonary diseases. This also includes drainage placement and bronchoscopy. Oncological treatment of lung cancer, as well as oxygen and home ventilators, are mainly managed by the lung clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping. The clinic also has an allergy unit managed by an allergist.

At the clinic, patients with internal medicine conditions of varying character, complexity, and different medical needs are cared for. You will be part of an experienced group of doctors with an open climate where we maintain a constant dialogue with each other regarding assessment, investigation, and treatment of our patients. In the clinic's wards and outpatient clinics, we work in teams together with nurses and nursing assistants, and there are also occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists.

Work Group

About 300 employees work at the clinic. Today we have 29 specialists/consultants and 17 resident doctors across seven sections. Since autumn 2023, the clinic has been located in new, beautiful premises.

About You

We are looking for you who are a specialist doctor in [field]. Previous experience in the specialty area is meritorious but not a requirement. Experience in relevant or related areas is also meritorious.

We are looking for you who are a specialist in lung diseases and preferably also in internal medicine. A requirement is that you have a Swedish medical license (to be attached to the application) and good knowledge of the Swedish language, at least level C1, as you need to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues fluently.

You are good at listening and clear in your communication. You collaborate well and are eager to share knowledge and experiences with others in the workgroup, regardless of profession. You have a positive mindset and see opportunities in changes. You have an interest in education and research and are a knowledge resource for others. You take responsibility for your work in an engaged manner and are eager to initiate improvements in the operations from a holistic perspective.
