We are now looking for you who want to help develop the care at the medical specialist clinic in general, but particularly at our gastroenterology clinic.

At the clinic, there is a cardiology department, medical emergency care teams (MAVA), a stroke care team, and a geriatric emergency care department (GAVA). We also have a medical observation department (MOA) which serves as our intermediate care unit. Gastrointestinal patients who need inpatient care usually end up in one of our MAVA care teams first.

The Medical Specialist Clinic (MSK) conducts a broad internal medicine operation at the Hospital in Motala. The proximity to the University Hospital in Linköping provides good opportunities for collaboration both in clinical everyday life and in education, research, and development. Our mission includes emergency care, inpatient care, and outpatient care. We maintain close cooperation with the Primary Care Clinic Väster/LAH.

We have operations in emergency care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, geriatric orthopedics, hematology, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, and neurology. Currently, we have about 45 care places and around 300 employees from many different professional groups working together to provide the best care to the population in western Östergötland.

Job Description

We offer you a varied and stimulating job with primary duties at our gastroenterology clinic. You will meet a wide spectrum of patients within gastroenterology. Gastroscopy activities are a significant part of the gastrointestinal operations. Colonoscopies are currently performed at the University Hospital in Linköping, but there are plans to hopefully start our own endoscopy unit in the future.

You will work closely with our gastroenterology nurses and the clinic's dietitian. There is an opportunity to participate in the clinic's on-call operations, primarily as a house and/or backup on-call doctor, depending on previous experience. Medical quality is a high priority, which is why development work is part of everyday tasks. The work also includes supervision/training of younger colleagues. Being a gastroenterologist who is also an internist is an advantage.

Work Group

We prioritize doctors' opportunities for continuing education and recovery, which is why we are now looking for you who want to strengthen and join the clinic's regular group of about 35 friendly colleagues. As an employee at our clinic, you are expected to contribute to the development of the operations and have a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues.

About You

You have a Swedish medical license and are a specialist in gastroenterology. Being a specialist in internal medicine is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing (Swedish C1), as you need to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues fluently.

We also welcome other language skills. As you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

You find it easy to collaborate with colleagues and other professionals, are empathetic, and care about maintaining good communication with patients and colleagues. The work requires that you have the ability to plan, organize, and structure your work effectively. We highly value your specialist knowledge and hope that you continuously maintain your skills and want to be a knowledge resource for your colleagues.
