KITM is part of the Diagnostics Center in Östergötland. We are a regional accredited university healthcare unit that offers diagnostics in clinical immunology as well as round-the-clock laboratory services and medical expertise for blood transfusions.
In clinical immunology, serological and cellular analyses are performed for allergy and autoantibody diagnostics as well as to investigate various immunodeficiency conditions. The laboratory is responsible for the hospital's stem cell activities and performs tissue typing for stem cell transplants. In transfusion medicine, blood grouping and antibody investigations are conducted. The unit is responsible for all blood donation in Östergötland and produces blood components for various clinical needs. Additionally, patient treatments using apheresis techniques are performed. In collaboration with the medical faculty at Linköping University, we conduct research and education.

Job Description
Here is a chance for you as a doctor to see part of our operations at KITM for a period. You will work daytime in our apheresis department together with our nurses and a supervisor. In apheresis, stem cell collections, plasma exchanges, photoapheresis, and more are performed.
You will also work on following up cases related to donor health. The work is done by reviewing health declarations, information retrieved from patient data systems and/or blood data systems, and through direct contact with donors.
The work is full-time on weekdays during the day, and the workplace is at the University Hospital in Linköping.
Work Group
At KITM, there are approximately 85 employees, with the medical group consisting of five senior consultants/specialist doctors and four resident doctors.
Other professional categories include biomedical analysts, biologists, nurses, and nursing assistants. The operations are conducted at the University Hospital in Linköping (US).
About You
You have completed at least semester 10 of the medical program; we see it as a great advantage if you have completed your internship and have a license.
You need to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both written and spoken.
No experience of similar tasks is required; you will receive training on site. Experience with the patient data system Cosmic is considered a merit.

The position is full-time from May to August 2026, with a possible extension. The placement is in clinical immunology and transfusion medicine at the university hospital in Linköping. There is an opportunity for some weeks of leave this summer.
