Department of Medicine and Geriatrics, Dialysis Unit, Värnamo Hospital

We are looking for you to join our friendly dialysis unit at Värnamo Hospital, whether you are a licensed nurse or graduating as a nurse in January 2026. In the spring, we will provide you with an 8-week orientation to safely integrate you into the role of dialysis nurse.

The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse in dialysis, you will have a technical, stimulating, and independent job, but you will never be alone. Hemodialysis treatments are performed Monday to Saturday, mostly during daytime hours. Three days a week, we have evening hours. Within the unit, we operate a self-dialysis unit integrated with other services. We have 14 treatment spots, and during a shift, you will be responsible for two to three patients at the same time. You will have a special care responsibility for some patients and their long-term planning and treatment.

We understand that it is not always easy to be new at work, and therefore we do our utmost to ensure you feel safe, excited, and prepared for your summer job with us. Before you start working independently, we offer you a well-structured and thorough 8-week introduction tailored to your needs and experiences.

Summer jobs are temporary full-time positions.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We need substitute nurses until August 2026. There may be good opportunities for extension within other departments of the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics, as we are a large clinic.

If you continue your employment after the summer, we offer you the chance to participate in one of Sweden's best introduction and development programs for newly graduated nurses - RIU. The program includes 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, internships, and reflections. RIU gives you the opportunity to meet other nurses in the same situation where you can exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.

The Department of Medicine and Geriatrics is the largest clinic at Värnamo Hospital, with many services under one roof. We have three inpatient care units with different focuses on medical specialties. The clinic also has outpatient care, including medical day care and the dialysis unit. Our outpatient services encompass all medical specialties.

Your Profile

For these summer jobs, we are looking for you who are already a licensed nurse or are nearing the end of your nursing education. You are expected to graduate and become a licensed nurse in January 2026.

As a person, you are positive and adaptable to the various circumstances that often prevail in a hospital. Since you will be working in a team, we prefer that you have an easy time collaborating and are responsive to both colleagues and patients. We place great importance on personal suitability.
