About the Position

As a nursing assistant, you will participate in pre- and post-operative treatment and care of patients, both in elective and emergency surgery.

Our three departments have a good collaboration and support each other during vacations and absences. We also have a close collaboration with the clinic's stoma therapist and breast care nurses as well as with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and dietitians. With us, the workdays are exciting and varied; we apply individual schedule planning that allows you to vary your shifts day/evening/night and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a nursing assistant and has proof of a protected professional title; we prefer that you have experience in close care work, but it is not a requirement. Teamwork is important to us, and we expect you to have good collaboration skills, be comfortable meeting people, and value diversity. In your interactions with patients and relatives, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Your Future Workplace

The surgical clinic conducts a broad range of activities divided into upper and lower abdominal surgery, vascular, breast, endocrine, urological surgery, and surgical emergency care. A total of over 200 people work here, including about 60 nursing assistants. The surgical clinics in Kalmar and Oskarshamn form a joint clinic, with advanced surgery conducted in Kalmar and operations that typically do not require intensive care in Oskarshamn.

The Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialized care, maternity care, and postnatal care. Over 2300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's residents. Our employees' continuous development efforts lead to good results in several national measurements. The hospital is located near Kalmar city center and Kalmarsund.
