Job Advertisement: Soldiers for 163rd Garrison Battalion

F 16 is responsible for the Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The wing is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace around the clock, year-round, and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit

The 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, the Garrison Company, and soon the Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on their primary tasks.

Logistics within NATO and the Armed Forces is divided into four main areas: supply, transport, medical care, and technical services.

Main Responsibilities

The 163rd Garrison Battalion is now recruiting several soldiers for various positions within the different areas of logistics. Tasks may vary depending on the needs of the organization and your experience and skills. Below are examples of tasks; please motivate your strengths and interests related to the position in your application.

  • Deliver logistics support to the garrison's own units as well as to national and international visiting units
  • Report and manage the Armed Forces' material in accordance with established routines and systems
  • Contribute to the development of logistics solutions within the Air Force and the Armed Forces
  • Be part of the command group, which involves versatile work focusing on solutions within logistics, supply, and transport services
  • Be part of the battalion's ceremonial force, security guard duties, guard of honor, and transport force depending on training and competencies
  • Be part of the battalion's mobilization work
  • Be part of the combat unit and perform duties
  • Be part of the newly established medical platoon of the battalion
  • Staff assistant
  • Administrative tasks

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed Swedish military service with a passing result
  • Good computer skills
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Driver's license (manual)

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude. You enjoy developing and learning new things and have the ability to work both independently and in a team. You are organized, responsible, and comfortable working in an environment where conditions can change rapidly. You are willing to try new things, ask follow-up questions, but can also report limitations when necessary. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Current experience in logistics or supply work
  • Previous experience working in the Armed Forces

  • Previous experience in audio/video/stage technology
  • Military driving licenses

Other

Employment form: According to the agreement for GSS/K. Fixed-term employment of no more than eight years, with the possibility of extension. May start with a six-month probationary period. Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also operates in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.

Working hours: Mainly daytime, evening and weekend shifts may occur during operations, activities, or as needed.

Start date: As soon as possible, by agreement.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting.

The Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and manages the continuous monitoring of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations in the country and is an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
