Soldier for Radio Platoon
Did you enjoy working in a team as a soldier and do you like being outdoors in the field? Then a position with us might be right for you. F 16 is growing and we are now looking for new colleagues who want to be part of our development journey! The Radio Platoon is seeking soldiers for support gunners, vehicle drivers, and communications.
About the Unit
The Sensor Company, part of the Air Force's Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, is mobile and has the task of supplementing, complementing, and replacing infrastructure for air radio and radar with mobile systems. The company can quickly reinforce radar coverage, air radio coverage, and communication at strategic points across the country.
Main Responsibilities
As a soldier in the Radio Platoon, you will be part of a group of soldiers and specialist officers. Your colleagues in the group include technicians, combat medics, vehicle drivers, support gunners, and high-altitude workers. Your group leader will be a specialist officer. Thus, there is high and diverse competence within the group, and opportunities for development are good in daily work. The group enjoys considerable freedom in how they solve their tasks.
As a support gunner, you will operate weapon systems such as KSP 58 and KSP 90. You will constitute the main part of the group's effectiveness during searches and extractions. You will also gain a basic understanding of the platoon's specific systems and how they operate and are handled. You will have the opportunity to conduct physical training both individually and collectively during working hours.
The daily operations are primarily conducted at Uppsala Garrison. However, the company's tasks may require the group to perform work anywhere in Sweden. During these assignments, you and your group often work far from other parts of the company.
In the Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is built on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all prepared to support each other, sometimes even outside our own areas of expertise and comfort zones. Therefore, as an employee, you may sometimes face new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Armed Forces, which serves both the authority and the employee's development well, and you will never be given a task that you do not have the means to accomplish.

You also need to be able to work independently and take responsibility for your position and the group's common equipment.
