Quartermaster to F 16

F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The wing is also responsible for the surveillance of Swedish airspace around the clock, year-round, and leads the Air Force's fighter aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the global situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the unit

51st Basic Training Company is part of the 162nd Air Base Battalion and is based at Uppsala Garrison. The main task of the company is to train conscripts for the F 16 war unit. The company conducts basic military training, refresher training, position training, and leadership training.

Main responsibilities

The quartermaster primarily leads and plans the company's material service, supply management, transport service, and infrastructure. You will supervise the personnel in the company's logistics function, and in limited phases, you will lead the platoons regarding maintenance, recovery, transport, and material service. You will support the company commander with decision-making material in matters related to defense logistics and finance. You will support and train the company's leaders and personnel, as well as conscripts, within your areas of responsibility. You will serve as the company's material officer and ensure compliance with regulations regarding flammable and explosive substances.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed specialist officer training with a passing result, SO6
• Driving license B

Personal qualities

As a quartermaster, you must be responsible and meticulous in solving tasks. You work well independently and can structure your own working hours, but you also have the ability to collaborate and work in smaller teams. It is expected that you can see longer processes and can independently adapt your tasks based on a larger goal. You are not afraid to actively share ideas and challenge working methods within your defined work area. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

• Education equivalent to logistics fundamentals or previous service in the field
• Experience working in PRIO MoF
• Military driver's license for heavy truck
• FMFG1000 and/or ADR
• Experience in systematic work environment management (e.g., safety representative, BVKF assistant)
• Forklift license A & B
• Instructor competencies

Employment form: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.
Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend work may occur during training activities.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions in the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs fighter aircraft in the air and manages the constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several different locations in the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
