Military SO6 Recruitment for F 16

F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace around the clock, all year round, and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit

51st Basic Training Company is part of the 162nd Air Base Battalion and is stationed at Uppsala Garrison. The main task of the company is to train conscripts for the F 16 war unit. The company conducts basic military training, refresher training, position training, and leadership training.

Main Responsibilities

The technical manager leads, plans, and coordinates the company's technical service. This includes booking and following up on inspections, controls, and repairs conducted on the company's vehicles and other technical systems, as well as functionally leading, supporting, and controlling the platoons' technical service. You will work in very close collaboration with the company's quartermaster. In defined stages, you will lead the platoons regarding maintenance, recovery, transport, and material service. Together with the company commander and quartermaster, you can also support decision-making in matters concerning the technical service. You will support and train the company's leaders and staff, as well as conscripts, within your areas of responsibility.

• Completed specialist officer training with a passing result, SO6
• Driving license B

As a quartermaster, you need to be responsible and meticulous in task resolution. You work well independently and can structure your own working time but also have the ability to collaborate and work in smaller teams. It is expected that you can see longer processes and can independently adapt your tasks based on a larger goal. You are not averse to actively sharing ideas and challenging work methods within your defined work area. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment form: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.
Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend work may occur during training activities.

The Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which commands combat aircraft in the air and manages the continuous monitoring of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is undergoing.
