We are seeking an experienced and committed business controller who wants to help develop the governance of the Swedish National Agency for Education.

About the job

In this role, you will work on issues that concern the entire agency. You will work on the governance of the agency, including follow-up and feedback, and contribute to ensuring that it is coherent, efficient, and supports the agency in achieving planned results. You will participate in the development of processes for internal governance and control and risk management. You will also be involved in the operational work of business planning, follow-up, and annual reporting.

The role of business controller is crucial for maintaining coherence and identifying opportunities for development and simplification. You will work in an information-intensive and complex environment where you have a holistic perspective on the agency's operations, which you translate into your operational work with planning and follow-up. The work can be intense at times.

You will work independently and have your own areas of responsibility but will also collaborate closely with colleagues in the unit, including other business controllers, business developers, educational advisors, and administrative coordinators. In your role, you will support managers and employees in the agency with issues related to planning and follow-up. You will have many contacts with colleagues within the agency and with the agency's management.

You will be placed in the Planning and Governance Unit within the Department of Operational Support. The unit has 14 employees. We are a newly established unit with a broad and important mission to develop coherent governance with effective working methods, enhance the quality of work in business planning and follow-up, and create engagement and participation throughout the agency. The unit also develops working methods around portfolio management, business development, and innovation.

You will work in our modern and spacious office in Solna Business Park. You may also have the opportunity to work up to 50% remotely.

In this job, you should have:

  • a university degree,
  • several years of experience in a similar role at another government agency,
  • knowledge and several years of experience in governance issues at a government agency,
  • knowledge and several years of experience in business planning and follow-up,
  • knowledge and several years of experience in internal governance and control as well as risk management,
  • experience in driving development and/or change initiatives.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with Stratsys or similar IT tools, project management, communication, and change management.

As a person, you need to:

  • have good collaboration skills,
  • express yourself well in speech and writing, with a good ability to communicate and convey messages,
  • be meticulous, with the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize work,
  • have good strategic skills, see the big picture, and consider the broader perspective.
