The area of operation (VO) emergency care and internal medicine offers a spectrum of exciting challenges and opportunities. The emergency services are among the largest in the country with over 140,000 visits per year. These are distributed across two emergency departments, one in Lund and one in Malmö. Specialist doctors in emergency care are present at both emergency departments and work in teams with nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries.

The emergency department in Malmö has a broad emergency service, where patients of all ages and with various reasons for seeking care are treated. We also train emergency physicians for the future of emergency care with high competence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a licensed physician for the emergency department in Malmö for a fixed-term employment of six months. This is a perfect opportunity for you who want to experience what it is like to work in emergency care and get to know the unit. The position is meritorious for a possible future specialist training in emergency care.

At the emergency department in Malmö, you will take care of children and adults of all ages with a wide range of diseases and conditions, from medicine to surgery and orthopedics. When working in our emergency department, senior supervisors in emergency care are available on-site for guidance around the clock.

The work is scheduled throughout the day and all days of the week. The position is based in Malmö, but work may also be performed at other units within Region Skåne.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has Swedish medical licensure with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have language skills in Swedish that correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous experience in emergency care and relevant research is meritorious, as well as a particular interest in emergency care as a field.

As a person, we prefer that you are not afraid of a fast-paced work environment and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions. You have a good ability to find new solutions when problems arise. Furthermore, you find patient contact rewarding, as much as practical procedures.
