Art Director with UX/UI skills (Temporary Position)

Visual Art is a global tech and media group driven by a passion for people, creativity, and design. Our business idea is to be a strategic partner to our clients through technical innovation and business-driven digital communication.

Since 1997, we have combined creative talent with technical expertise to deliver digital communication solutions for both Swedish and international clients across a wide range of industries and sectors.

Visual Art is part of the Vertiseit Group, listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Sweden. We are more than 280 employees worldwide – all on a mission to connect a world of retail.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

We are now looking for an Art Director with UX/UI skills to join our Stockholm office. In this hybrid role, you will work closely with both our Design & Strategy team and our Technology department, shaping concepts, interfaces, and user experiences for the next generation of Visual Art’s products and digital signage solutions.

You will play a key role in developing engaging, place-based communication for some of the world’s strongest brands, while also contributing to the UX and visual design of our evolving product ecosystem.

Your responsibilities include

  • Develop creative concepts, visual directions, and design systems for digital signage solutions and customer journeys.

  • Transform ideas into clear prototypes and wireframes — quickly and effectively.

  • Create and contribute UX/UI deliverables such as storyboards, UI flows, wireframes, mockups or prototypes.

  • Lead concept development from pitch to delivery, including hands-on design production.

  • Collaborate daily with strategists, developers, product owners, and other creatives.

  • Facilitate workshops with customers, partners, and internal teams.

  • Advise clients on design decisions and clearly communicate the strategic thinking behind them.

  • Ensure that UX and design strategic principles, accessibility, and customer journey insights are integrated into both design solutions and product development.

Your Profile

We believe you are a curious, driven, and collaborative designer who moves seamlessly between concept development, UX/UI thinking, and hands-on production. You enjoy solving problems creatively, feel comfortable advising clients, and can clearly explain and motivate your design decisions in cross-functional, collaborative environments.

We think you bring

  • Relevant education in design, digital media, UX, or a similar field.

  • Several years of experience as an Art Director or Lead Designer within digital channels.

  • Strong UX skills, including wireframing, prototyping, and customer journey mapping.

  • Ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible visual solutions.

  • Excellent skills in Adobe XD (or Figma), Illustrator, and Photoshop.

  • Experience in working closely with developers and tech teams.

  • Confidence in presenting work, leading workshops, and communicating with clients.

  • A pedagogical approach to explaining and motivating design and UX decisions.

  • Ability to work in both Swedish and English.

What we offer

  • A dynamic and inclusive workplace with fair and competitive employment conditions.

  • A creative environment with in-house film studio, showroom, and a large multidisciplinary design team.

  • A strong focus on employee well-being, including health initiatives and a wellness allowance.

  • Opportunities for professional growth within both design and tech.

  • Skilled colleagues who contribute to an inspiring and innovative atmosphere.

This is a full-time temporary position covering a parental leave (up to 18 months), based at our Stockholm office, the headquarters of Visual Art. We recruit on an ongoing basis, with the last day of application being 2026-01-09. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pelle Mets Höök at +46 73 500 07 00 or [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). You may send your application in Swedish or English.
