The role of specialist physician in nephrology

The nephrology care includes inpatient care, dialysis unit, and nephrology outpatient clinic. Investigation and treatment of patients with medical kidney diseases are part of the assignment through service in our dialysis unit, inpatient care, and nephrology outpatient clinic. We have two specialist physicians and one resident physician in the nephrology section and have a close collaboration with nurses and paramedics. Being part of driving development work at the clinic is a natural part of your assignment. The position also includes mentoring future physician colleagues. The medicine clinic offers good opportunities for research and improvement work. On-call duty is included in the position.

We offer a permanent position with a start date according to agreement.

The Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic at Högland Hospital in Eksjö is a developing facility where we care for patients in need of specialized medical and geriatric care. The nephrology section is part of the Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic at Högland Hospital in Eksjö and is responsible for nephrology inpatient and outpatient care, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis outpatient clinics as well as on-call/consultation services. The clinic provides specialized care in all internal medicine subspecialties. The primary catchment area of the medicine clinic covers approximately 110,000 inhabitants, but for regional cross-border activities, we are responsible for the entire Jönköping County region.

Your profile

To be considered for the position, you must have a Swedish medical license with specialist competence in internal medicine and/or nephrology or be at the end of your residency training in nephrology. If you have several years of experience in nephrology, we see it as a positive aspect. Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish, and therefore you need to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You communicate clearly with others. Your leadership style creates motivated and engaged employees. The role requires a good ability to think strategically and broadly, as well as the ability to plan and organize your work effectively. You provide a good reception to patients and colleagues and value our teamwork at the clinic, which requires good collaboration skills.
